Matthew has been teaching voice for actors for over fifteen years. He is a classically trained actor and holds an MFA from the Hilberry Repertory Theatre. He is a member of Actor’s Equity and the Screen Actors Guild and has worked as a professional actor for the past twenty years.
His voice training for actors focuses on the Linklater technique, but also draws from the work of Patsy Rodenburg, Edith Skinner and Catherine Fitzmaurice. The goal of the work is to achieve vocal control and flexibility by the freeing the best natural voice available to the student.
Through this training, actors not only achieve the most full, powerful and pliable voice available to them, but also a clear pathway to their emotional honesty which is so crucial to the actor.
