Scene Study designed to fulfill the essential components of circumstances, needs, obstacles, and character, while promoting exciting, dynamic and insightful interpretations. Students apply the tools of the craft to scene work and characterization. Actors employ techniques including Script Analysis, Backstory, Circumstances, the "Trinity," Emotional Preparation, Choices, Physical, Vocal and Speech transformation, Beats and Units, Emotional Homework, Independent Activities, Structure and other elements of scene work, and use them to explore, enrich and deepen the scene. Looking, listening and impulse responsiveness is emphasized.

Explore, develop, fulfill and surpass the requirements of each scene.

Exercise and apply the craft to different characters and styles.

Perfect your own working process that applies to all forms and styles.

Develop the tools of characterization.

Make yourself "director-proof," not dependent on outside feedback.

By the end of the sessions, actors have a deeper understanding of text, process, and the application of the imagination, plus the skills to achieve consistent excellence.

N.B. All courses progress in a logical and consecutive sequence. Furthermore, students are frequently turned away once the maximum number of participants has been reached. For these reasons, students who begin the session agree to commit to the entire session and are, therefore, financially responsible for that session.
